Rietveld's furniture was revolutionary for it's time and striking in its three dimensional interpretation of principals of the De Stijl movement's two dimensional artwork.
You can find examples of Rietveld's furniture in many books and museums, but not, I suspect in many homes due to it's rigid geometry and color schemes.
It is my attempt, with this table light, to offer a compact and functional accent piece for any modern home. It is based on Rietveld's most iconic piece the Red Blue Chair from 1923. It functions equally well in the daylight as an art and conversation piece and the real fun begins at night with the striking geometric shadows cast on nearby walls from the dimmable 3 watt LED light source.
